Great Scott! Wednesday is Back to the Future Day and the Ohio legislature is going to send women’s health care back to 1955!
You don’t need a time machine to save the day, just use this form to email your elected officials.
In Back to the Future II, Marty McFly, Jennifer, and Doc Brown flew into the future, all the way to October 21, 2015. While the Chicago Cubs and science fiction nerds celebrate from here to Hill Valley, politicians in the Ohio Statehouse are working on a plan to defund women’s health care.
Three bills that are pending in the state legislature seek to defund Planned Parenthood. You don’t have to be Einstein to know this is a bad idea.
Abstinence-only programs just treat our teens like a bunch of slackers. A comprehensive sex education program, however, arms them with the knowledge and confidence they need to make smart choices. Gov. John Kasich is scheming to make the funding for these programs disappear.
Women shouldn’t have to gamble with their health, but when you’ve got a womanizing casino operator running things, everybody acts like they have to do what he says.
We could have leaders that respect Ohioans, but Gov. Kasich is no Johnny B. Goode. We’d like to fax him a note that says “You’re Fired!!!”
Ohioans aren’t demanding a hoverboard (ok, maybe we are), but we really just want our tax dollars to pay for services that help keep us healthy.
The defunding plan will stop people from accessing services made possible by the Violence Against Women Act; the Breast and Cervical Cancer Mortality Prevention Act; the Infertility Prevention Project; the Minority HIV/AIDS Initiative; Infant Mortality Reduction or Infant Vitality Initiatives; and the Personal Responsibility Education Program. (There’s no joke here because this is very serious.)
John Kasich’s plan for women is a load of manure, and I hate manure. He must have hit his head on a toilet or been struck by lightning.
We’re OUTATIME! Thanks for reading. You might not be familiar with every joke here, but your kids will love it.
Help build a pro-choice Ohio. Every day, NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio fights to protect access to the full range of reproductive health care options—including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and safe & legal abortion care. We educate the public about the real threat to women’s healthcare posed by anti-choice legislation and policies. We mobilize pro-choice Ohioans to take political action to defend reproductive rights. And we are the voice for Ohio’s abortion clinics, helping them navigate the increasingly hostile climate created by extremist groups. But we need your help. As a member organization, we rely on your financial support to fund our important legislative, educational, and grassroots activities.
