Podcast: Stand with Transgender Kids

This week, Gabe and Annie discussed Donald Trump’s ban on Transgender kids being allowed to use the bathroom of their choice.

This Is Me docu-series is an anthology of five 3-5 minute-long Transparent-inspired documentaries by five different trans and gender-nonconforming filmmakers. Personal essays, direct actions, explainers – each filmmaker has crafted a segment that explores a theme in Transparent.

Town hall for Portman’s NEO Constituents
Sponsored by MoveOn.org, they’ve been asking Rob Portman’s office when he’ll hold the next Town Hall and there is currently nothing planned. The only thing on his schedule during the recess from Feb 18-Feb 26 is a private fundraising event in Fremont. This is unacceptable. The whole point of recesses is for the MOCs to connect with constituents. Since our senator will not respond to our requests, we are holding our own Town Hall & inviting him.

Bowl-a-Thon Launch Happy Hour & Trivia Night
Have you heard about Preterm’s Bowl-a-Thon and always wanted to participate, but never knew how? Or are you a Bowl-a-Thon pro and want to hang out with Cleveland’s coolest abortion access supporters? Learn more about Preterm and the Bowl-a-Thon, meet event organizers, start or join a team, and register.

WHO/O Bowl-a-thon Kickoff Party
At the kick-off event you can register your team, meet other bowlers, and get some great advice from some of last year’s most successful fundraisers.

Stitch n’ Bitch with the Femiknits
The Cleveland Pro-Choice Femiknits (founded by NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio) are back and ready for some craft action! We’ll gather at Prosperity (which is pro-choice owned) to dine, drink, craft, and do a group action together. We’ll be discussing ways to reactivate our group so that we meld crafts and activism more poignantly in the wake of this new administration. Please bring a craft project to work on while we gather. All genders and crafters are welcome, they just have to be pro-choice. 😉
A note about the venue: PLEASE let us know as accurately as possible whether or not you actually plan on attending so Prosperity can set up the space for us without losing business. We want to support their needs since they are big supporters of us! Thanks to all in advance.

Swap For Our Sisters
Empty your closets of unwanted items that are gently, barely or never used (clothes, dressy scarves, outerwear, shoes, costume jewelry, sunglasses and purses) and bring them to St Stephen’s Episcopal Church on March 24 between 4:30-8pm to get your “golden ticket” that allows you to take unlimited items at the swap the next day.

Women Have Options — Ohio Bowl-a-thon
Every year, WHO/O supporters take it to the alleys — the bowling alleys — to raise money for abortion access in Ohio! Here’s how it works: get a few friends together to start a team or join a team and help us bowl over barriers to abortion access.

Activists across Ohio are speaking out against the Trump agenda. We need to make sure Ohio politicians hear a loud and clear message that Ohioans support access to safe and legal abortion.

Write your opinion in under 200 words and submit it to a newspaper listed below.

What should you say? Tell your community why you support access to safe and legal abortion, and why you oppose additional restrictions from Ohio lawmakers.

You can send letters to multiple newspapers, but please don’t send the same letter to different publications. Three short letters to different papers is better than one long one.

NARAL’s The Morning After is a production of NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio.

Help build a pro-choice Ohio. Every day, NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio fights to protect access to the full range of reproductive health care options—including preventing unintended pregnancy, bearing healthy children, and safe & legal abortion care. We educate the public about the real threat to women’s healthcare posed by anti-choice legislation and policies. We mobilize pro-choice Ohioans to take political action to defend reproductive rights. And we are the voice for Ohio’s abortion clinics, helping them navigate the increasingly hostile climate created by extremist groups. But we need your help. As a member organization, we rely on your financial support to fund our important legislative, educational, and grassroots activities.
